Most crazy demo we've ever done

This guy wanted to try and see if a larger tractor would pull his boat up and out of the water on a steep hill. Our salesmen (not me) loaded the tractor on a barge and took it out to this island. You can see the cooling towers from three mile island in the background. Pretty funny, can't say we've ever had to take a tractor out on a barge for a demo before.

He had to bring it back, but only because the guy wanted an L3240 rather than the L3540 that we took out.

He needed it proven that a Grand L would pull a small pontoon boat up a concrete ramp? A small B series would pull that boat out.

I have a Wheel Horse tractor I could sell him for a couple grand that would pull that little boat out, and then he could cut his grass.

We just did the same thing for one of our customers, we boarded a ferry Thursday night and went to a island off of Rhode Island.
We delivered his new machine and picked up his trade.
We stayed overnight because the ferry only has a limited amount of runs.
It was quit the experience.
We got to stay in a 150 year old house... it still has the oil lanterns that you pull down from the ceiling and light them.

It does not look like it in the picture, but the ramp is very steep. We're going to be installing weights on the front of the tractor to keep the nose down. It bobed just a bit comming up the ramp. He is actually trading a B2710 on it.

Hawkenson is in Meredith and Plymouth. I suspect that they would rally for a similar island excursion on Lake Winni.

I know most of you are looking at the tractor on the barge, BUT I was looking at the cooling towers in the background. The cooling towers on the right are not operating, note no steam. They are the cooling towers were the famous Three Mile Island almost nuclear disaster occured on March 28, 1979. I was in college in the area when this went down, something I will never forget. The local news was telling us we were all going to die, while the national news was saying no big deal. Anyway that picture made it all come back to me like it was yesterday.
