I got to see a couple of similar ones a few years ago. My company built control systems for 2 Sulzer marine diesels installed in an electric utility in Sebring Florida. They connected large generators to the end of them and generate electricity for the city. Three foot bore and about 6 foot stroke if I remember right. The exhaust was run thru a heat recovery steam generator to generator steam for more power. Impressive.

I never tire of seeing this thing! Cool. It's always impressive.

If it'smax power is at 102rpm, I wonder what the idle speed is?

slowrev, at 102rpm, it would just about have to be a 2 cycle. I think 4 cycles it would lose too much momentum, and would probably shake itself to pieces.

Another oddball engine - see my other post Strange Engine it has three crankshafts!?!
