Buhler Allied builds a very heavyweight frontloader.
If the added weight trades off in extra strength vs. a Swedish built Quicke.... i dont think so.
Not familiar with that brand. they look pretty good in the online photos. i'll check them out further. thanks.

How many actually KNOW what the strongest is? From my limited experience, I'm very satisfied with my Koyker loader. It's capacity far exceeds the capacity of my tractor.

Several have mentioned tractor front end capacity but how many of you have actually examined the capacity on their tractor? By examined, I mean checked on the capacity of their tires/rims/axle, weighed their tractor to see how much of a load is on the front end without anything in the bucket & calc the weight transfer while picking up a load with the bucket? It might be an eye opener if you did.

I have a Westendorf TA26 on my Ford 4610 . . . seems like an extremely strong loader. I've picked up some huge rocks with the loader. I can't compare to other brands. Just adding Westendorf to the 3rd party group as one to consider.

I was hoping for at least one person (maybe a dealer) who had done some serious research in this regard. maybe there is no clear answer. guess it may become my next google research project. :)

I think kennyd had mentioned that brand earlier and i will certainly include them in my research.

If you want the strongest, just get the largest one that fits and have cylinders that are 1" larger diameter fitted. It will be slow to lift, but will be far stronger than the tractor can handle long term.

Your idea on the used skid may work, but most used skids are dog tired and to be reliable will need some work. Often a lot of work. But, if you are patient and keep looking you may find one that is decent.

Tractor FEL is no match for skidsteer loaders. Skidsteers were designed for heavy lifting, when they first came out it was almost the only thing it did. Tractors are designed to do many things... one of those things is loader work. Have you look into full size loader/backhoe? That would give the skidsteer a run for the money...

General question that came up the other day that stumped me and got me thinking too hard so i though i'd ask it here: what third party north american made fel brand is generally considered the strongest (strongest boom, hardware, etc) and most powerful (greatest breakout, greatest lift, etc) for a given frame size in say the 40 to 75 hp tractor class range?

My Mahindra 5525 (54 hp engine, 45 hp pto, 2WD) has the ML250 FEL (6 ft bucket). That FEL is made by Buhler in Canada (I think) and is distributed by BII Fargo, Inc. The bucket holds 18.8 cu ft (about 0.67 cu yd), lift capacity is 2980 lb to full height at the pivot pins and the breakout force at the pivot pins is 4905 lb. Max lift height is 10.5 ft. The clearance with the bucket dumped is 8'-8".

The larger diameter cylinders might do plenty for lifting power but nothing for physical strength. power without corresponding boom and component strength does me no good at all.

The used skidsteer I've been focusing on lately is the bobcat 863. seems popular in these parts but i have no idea about its longterm reliability or service life.

No. I still need a good, reliable tractor for all of the 3-point functions. I can buy a fairly decent used skidsteer loader for 10k to 12k. no way a decent used hoe is going to be in my price range.
