On our place in everything country (ie lions, bears, moose, elk, bobcats, deer, etc) I always carry a 10mm with penetrator bullets on person. It is certainly a pain to work with it on, but:
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
The rifle/shotgun is not far away, but it is just impractical to have it accessible. We love all animals and would never harm one that isn稚 threatening our lives.
