Old post of mine
I'm following up on this. I have the fuel sender on its way. Seems it's about 50 bucks or so. The little plug in rubber lamp holders that illuminate the dash are not available seperately.
I may have to cobble something up or just do without.
If anyone comes up with a suitable replacement for the lamp holders let me know please.
Several rat kills and no sign of them messing with the traps anymore. That said I still have been removing the instrument cluster when I leave my property.

I would think you should be able to apoxy in just about any 12v light that will fit. I've gerryrigged headlights that way, used headlights from a lawn tractor on my last Kubota.

Best rat/mouse trap I ever saw was a 5 gallon bucket half filled with water. Then, about a half inch of white flour sprinkled on top of the water. Leave it somewhere they can come off a shelf or something and jump in. Just like Hotel California, they can check out, but never leave.

I set up some 5 gallon traps in my basement and my big garage - they work like a charm. Here's the recipe:

5 gallon pail

soda can with holes punched in top & bottom so you can pass a coat hanger through it

wire coat hanger straightened out with the soda can in the middle then poked through the sides of the bucket near the top

a smear of peanut butter on top of the can and a big glob on the bottom as a counter weight

three inches of water in the pail (below freezing use WWF or anti-freeze)

a wooden ramp for the critters to reach the top of the bucket

The mice go up the ramp to get to the peanut butter, jump onto the can which spins and they fall into the water and drown

You can probably find generic lamp holders that will work as a substitute. Being an electrician, you probably know of many sources. Or do a search for automotive lamp holders on the web. There are literally hundreds of choices. Also, Kioti should at least tell you what the part number is for them and who makes them so that you can go directly to the source.

I just went out today and put moth balls under the hood of my CK25. Now I think I'll go back and add of couple more bags. Caver, sorry for your dilemma. What a mess!

I've been trying to figure out ways to keep them little bastards out of my stuff.

The buckets sound like a good idea, tough moral dilemma for me though. But I'm thinking if something goes wrong with one my machines because of one of those cute fuzzy little mice, I'll probably be the first one ripping their legs off for toothpicks.

Any suggestions for outdoor protection? I use the canvas shelters for my hoe and dozer (shelter-it) or the like, can't remember the name.

Thanks,
Joel

Might want to try placing a few meshs bag of mothballs in spots around the tractor or hanging from the shelter or ROPS.
