Stopped at Menards today and priced out a new 40x100x14 pole barn; 8' centers, premium siding and roof with screws, 20' sliding door, 2-12x12 insulated overhead doors, 2-passage doors, 3-windows, etc. No tax, labor or delivery. Just under $27k for materials.

The 28x40x10 I recently priced was approximately $18.5 with labor about $6500 and materials $12k. The larger 40x100x14 would probably hit $10~12k for labor. Perhaps another $10k for disassembly? $20k to disassemble and reassemble? That would come out to approximately half the price of new. Additional savings would be sales tax and building valuation for tax purposes. The Lesters might be a little better quality when new.

It will be interesting to see what the contractor comes up with for a price. The bigger building would be nice to have. More room for toys...I mean needed equipment to store.

So what did you end up doing?
What were the labor and shipping bids?
There's a nice 30x40 (about) that I'm concidering relocating.
Do people cut the posts at the bottom and use perma-columns? Or maybe just attach 4' of new post with bolts and steel plates?
Also in question is the snow/wind load of my building, because my location I know has a higher snowload than where it is now.
