Moving a tool shed

My bet is to go with rolers.. like fence posts or a cut up telephone pole.... Real easy to move boxy structures, asuming the underpinnings will hold and ar the right direction.. if not.. get it jacked up and put one roller under it and angle it while balanced.. then add more rollers.. do the same at the new location to reposition.

Worked thousands of years ago for the egyptians and blocks of stone

We used to move big walkin Restaurant freezers and fridges by usings large diameter pvc as rollers. Granted, we had a nice hard indoor cement surface, but I'd imagine if you laid some long 2x10's or 2x12's for a "track" you'd displace the load and could roll along on top of them.

Ah man Gary, you stole my picture of my tractor-shed-train. It was an interesting afternoon the day that I did that. Kinda had me scared what if one of those chains or straps broke. Me and my little 24 were gonna be history.

Here is picture of the location my shed was moved from. Would've have never been able to get the shed up on to something like this where I moved it to. Though I would really like to get the support back like it had there. BTW, my shed was only 8X16.

I remember seeing that thread about your project and thinking how cool it was the way you moved the shed. I kept waiting to see you post the picture in this thread, but when it didn't happen, I figured that you hadn't noticed it yet. So I went ahead and posted for you.

Attached is a picture moving a 8x10 shed by picking it up and carrying it with my NN TN75. The 4' forks were extended to 12' by some slip on channel iron on which I welded straps so that the forks could slip into a box. I've moved larger sheds the same way. In some cases I just barely lift one edge of the shed off the ground, chain the shed to the forks and drag it. A roller on the edge on the ground also wouldn't hurt, although I've just used boards to drag on.

i would use rollers, and plenty of them, be careful where and how u hook on to do the pulling.
