TC40,
I have a TC40 that I intend to use to move about 23 yard concrete back into a foundation this weekend. Is there anything I should watch out for? Other then the abvios to much weigth in bucket.

since you are going to have to keep the bucket high to avoid spillage, make SURE you have a good counterweight.. I moved a bunch of 'crete with my 33D, and it was fine, but I had to be REALLY careful since I had to rely on the weight of the filled tires, as I couldn't fit where I needed to go with the only cw I had at the time, my LR72 rake.. I still don't have a weight box made..

We shot the 'crete right into the bucket from the truck, it was fine.

Make sure to rinse the bucket before it dries too.

I figuered on leaving my heavy duty scraper blade on for extra weight. Also told them to make shore hose was readily available. When you say I'm going to have to leave my bucket high how high do you mean? Shorely not much over 3ft. the surface I will be working will be level.

I had mine at about chest level (I am 6' 1"), to get the most in there that we could without spillage.

At about 1/3 yard per bucket (just slightly below full), that's a lot of trips! Otherwise, keep your bucket low and your attention focused and you'll be fine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was thinking that, too. Nearly a hundred trips back and forth, not to mention the close-quarter maneuvering to pour into the foundation forms. I thought about using the loader to move just six yards - but ended up spending the $150 to have a pumper come out for the afternoon. Best of all, I spent my post-pour time floating the cement rather than cleaning the tractor off. Cement can really do a number on painted surfaces.

Wow is that cheap. Here a pumper starts at $750 extra.

MMiller,
Seems to me you concrete will be hardening when you're on your 20th trip. Might want to try renting a concrete buggy instead. They are made for it. I haven't used one, but it was highly recommended by others in this forum.

The delivery truck driver(s) is also not going to want to hang around while you move 1/3 yd at a time. Probably charge extra for waiting time.

A pump sounds better & better. Even a concrete buggy.
