I will be hauling 3 loads from SE MI to southern Colorado on my 12K gooseneck and then at least 1 load on a rented deck over that has a hydraulic tilt deck (20' shipping container). Im sure it will be a fraction of the price of truck freight. I was quoted up to $2k to haul a 300lb engine from Tucson AZ to SE Michigan which is absolutely ridiculous. In fact that was the UPS freight price. Yet someone managed to pick it up, drop it off at UPS freight and charge only $300... No Idea how that works. But I will be doing the job myself, however long it takes.

For the personal driving portion, I have found it much less stressful to plot a course around major cities, even if it is longer. Failing that, try to time those in the middle of the night.
