Moving it all

One other thought about U-Haul; you can reserve a truck a month in advance, yet when you get there they may not have it. If somebody comes in before you and needs a truck they will get what you had already reserved. I have seen that twice in the last year at two altogether different locations; first when my sister and BIL moved, then when I was in renting a trailer and a woman I know was trying to get the truck she reserved to move her daughter to college. Both times they had to settle for something else.

I had no luck with uship to haul a baler 300 miles, right down I70. Only got a couple quotes that expired in 1 day from when they gave them. 1 had no experience, other raised his price when i didn't respond in 1 day. Ended up borrowing neighbors trailer and hauling it myself.

Posthole digger, rotary cutter, finish mower, flail mower, box blade, back blade, rake, carryall, counterweight,
Grapple, bucket, trailer mover, 3pt to SSQA adaptor, and a set of rear turf tire's.
Sold the slip scoop so now I'm down to 14.

I think I've talked myself into keeping it all and moving it. I know all the little idiosyncrasies of these pieces like how the back blade will pinch the fire out of you if you swing it without your fingers "just so".

It'd be hard to relearn how a whole new set of implements are out to get me!

so Truck, Trailer, Tractor, implements and house hold goods. 1 driver...3 day drive

your original plan of rental truck and rented trailer w/ tractor... followed by truck pulling all your attachments is the way to go. One idea is find a friend who you trust and have them drive your truck while your drive the moving van... pay for they're ticket back.

I could argue a few of your attachments could sold and re-bought... but it think it almost becomes an all or nothing deal.

oh and btw you'll be back to 15 attachments soon enough.... we have snow up here!

I know you have snow! I built some wind turbines up near Clarendon in Ontario a few winters back. Rented a small beach cottage on the local lake as everything was nice, quiet, and peaceful in the winter time. Life was good!

Then the snow hit. I walked out to my F150 4x4 and had snow to the drivers door handle in the driveway overnight!

First thing that hit my mind was that this is no place for an Okie!

Spent 6 months there and then a couple of months in the three rivers area of Quebec. I couldn't have asked for better people, and just plain niceness from all the locals for this "foreigner ".

So why the move?

Job upgrade is one.
Wife's people and kids are there is two.

And then the third. A certain little girl that thinks I need to live closer as she can't move away due to divorce court orders between her mom and dad. IMG_0572.JPG

Sorry but i'm with all the voters for selling it all.

Logically, you're investing more money into old, used equipment.

Marketwise it makes little sense.

Sell it all for what it's worth here and buy used where ever you end up.

That's the plan.

You'll have more money tied up in your old equipment that you'll never regain.

Leave your sentimental values in your wallet and buy used where you end up.

Use the same common sense you used to buy the stuff you have now and you'll be just fine.

In fact, you'll be money ahead.

Unless you want to move it all youself with your own trailer and truck.

From the accounting standpoint, it makes little to no sense to move used equipment a great distance.

If you are still looking for some suggestion, then I will suggest, you hire some licensed and genuine auto transportation service who can provide you an efficient movement of all your stuff. Last month, my cousin has moved to CA by making all his stuff including his automobile and other household goods, shifted to the target location with the help of one of the licensed service provider by contacting them through this page. He was very satisfied with the service he got. But in case if you have already shifted to VT, then you can go with my suggestion in future, if you ever come across the same situation again.
