Moving Junk Around the Yard

I have a 40x70 "shop" building now. It's (mostly) all in there, but I still have to shuffle it around a couple times a year (winter/summer-snow stuff/yard-mowing stuff). I don't think there's a way around it. Even if you moved into an apartment in town (shoot me first), you'd still have "stuff".

Palletizing as much as I can and getting forks for the tractor FEL has gone a long ways to helping the process of shuffling it around. But shuffling still occurs.
I finally bought some pallet forks last year and that was a good purchase. Now moving all the junk around is not as bad as it used to be.

At work the title is “pilot”……

pile it here……
Pile it there……
Started cleaning out my "pilot project" this weekend. That is where I pile it, with the thought I might need it some day. Gonna take several more trips.

Always moving things around so I can cut the grass to minimise snakes, SWMBO always comes home with more crap that we must have that I have to move and daughters have taken over my workshop with horse feed, I want a 20' container just to put least used things and horse food but SWMBO doesn't think it's a good idea even though I can't do anything.

WVH1977 - keep the faith. I've been out here 40+ years now. After about twenty years - everything seems to have found an appropriate place.

Yes, SWMBO has a thing about clutter, but doesn't want to pay to hire out the work, and then grumbles when there is a piece of equipment hanging around for the next project (having paid for itself several times over on prior projects). It extends to the house with threatened purges of "Knick-knacks", to which I say, "sure, which ones? Those?", "Oh, no, those are heirlooms"...

I smile privately and keep going.

Why not buy one of those nifty Aussie metal sheds for you, since you have been displaced by the horse feed? (Always nice to know where one ranks on the family hierarchy, just below chaff...) Somebody posted a gorgeous build here not that long ago.

Rumpole rocks.

All the best,

Peter

Sounds like a great philosophy to me!
I once heard a place with a lot of junk referred to as "Alaskan in training."

Seems like the seasonal shuffle here.
Move tractor to get to lawn tractor.
Move 3pt implements on off. Plenty of tarps.
Different projects in different buildings.
Some stuff is part outdoors, part indoors.

Do they sell mapping software for this

True statement. The Wife has begun to mellow me. At least most of my "Gems" are out of sight now.
