Moving large square bales, with no machinery. Let’s do this.

If you put a piece of plywood under the bales the PVC idea would probably work but I don’t have a lot of confidence that you could overcome the friction between the hay and the pvc pipes. If you were willing to flop them on the ground to start with why don’t you just use the dump truck?

I could, but when it slides out, if it hits on a corner, the strings could break.
It would probably work, but a broken bale is a mess not worth taking for $300 bucks.

The other thing is, she wants 2 bales with each one put in a different spot. Would have to dump one in one spot without the other sliding out with it.

Yes, that’s what we have been discussing, but there’s a chance the bale could break on impact.

I gave her my delivery price for 2 bales placed in 2 different spots. Since then, I haven’t heard back.

Maybe she found somebody who is 5 bucks cheaper.

I don’t know animal hay but if she can’t move them then why does it matter if it breaks. Going to have to be broken up to be moved anyway right?

I think shes going to flop a hay hut over them then cut strings. The hay won’t “blow up” like if you drop the bale and the strings break. It can be a real mess if they break and it does that.

Hay Dude. Consider one of these from Harbor Freight. The Harbor Freight one is collapsible and still allows for the use of the truck bed for cargo hauling when not in use. Other versions from different sources are also available from manual to electric.

Yes, I have plenty of PVC pipe laying around to help.
I *think* me and my son might be strong enough to muscle them off, but PVC under them could help.

How hard would it be to drive a rod through the middle and get it out after? - - Good pry points to use a 2x6" x 8' each end to lift / lever slide along the bed.
