Ground I will be working on is pretty flat. I am planning to brace the front and rear and probably middle section with fencing top posts spot welded to the uprights.

drive your car under it after the anchors are all out tie 2 2x12 inthe center of the ridge put a couple of tractor trailer tubes on roof inflate them to lift up car port via the 2x12's and drive over to were you want it.

or have a beer party with about 12 young guys and have them move before the keg gets tapped.

You may not want to spend that kind of money building a 'skid' to move it and still take the chance of it flexing as you move it 90 degrees. If the metal is screwed into the frame, take it apart and put it back together. You can also mark your pieces as you go.:)

I'm with you , it would take 2 hours with a screw gun to pull it apart . Number the sheets and get another guy to give you a hand . You would have it all done in a day without all the drama .

Now that I know we are talking carport, I agree with Iron Horse. I also like the idea of waiting for a big wind. ")

If the bottom plate of the carport is below the metal siding and it was sitting in my yard I think I'd just pull the anchors and use the two trucks to slowly and carefully drag it the way it is, I mean it's only 100 ft.... (But I've been known to do alot of stuff that's not "by the book") Bracing or disassembling would obviously be the safest for the building. I'd think the building is really only weak at the bottom of the walls since it's designed to be open on both ends and still withstand winds and snow etc. on the sides and roof.

i think your putting to much thought into moving it. me and my wife slid a similar size one without sides and turned it over 100 feet so i think four guys should be able to handle. just GIT-R-DONE.

Personally I'd go with the get some young guys to move it for food and beer idea. That used to work on me when I was younger and dumber.

But if you really want to do it in a way the neighbors will talk about check out this guy's site The Forgotten Technology
I saw him on a Sunday morning program a few months ago and am getting his dvd to check out how he's done things. He claims that he and his son moved a 30x40' 10 ton building so your's should be a piece of cake.

I have moved mine both ways (one was across town so the slide it was not an option :) )

Brace across the front, brace across the back and maybe the middle. If it was me, it would be a chain to the three point, 2" of lift, and slowly go forward with a person watching each side.

Put it on pipes and one person can probably roll (slide) it around.

This is one of those jobs that after you get going, will go easier then you think.

While the Mexicans that put mine up only took an hour or so, it took me considerably longer to do it myself the second time.

Moving it the 100' with a tractor will be no problem. Rotating it 90deg will be the trick. These things have no strength side to side and if you just try to pull it with the tractor to rotate you will bend it up. I would pull it with the tractor then jack it up in the middle and put a block of wood under it and rotate the 90deg like the guy did in the video. 4 young guys, a few beers, and some pizza will get this job done for less than $50.

Well ive been thinking about something similar. I got a 20 by 18 building I wanna make portable. Im gonna put a trailer jack on all four corners. The ones that bolt around the frames. Weld wheels that swivvle to jack bottoms or foot. Then put 2 swivvling wheels in the middle of each side. Brace the front and back and leveing will be easier. Thats just my idea of what I wanna do though. I wish you luck with it!
