It makes sense to move the fuel pump to an area of less heat. For those that have done this, where did you relocate it to? Does the location need to be an apprx same height as original location in relation to the carb or fuel tank outlet?

I removed the stock pump and installed an electric as far away from the exhaust heat as possible.

My vaporlock problem still existed but not as much. It only was completely cured when I installed the large fan on the engine cage.

My vaporlock problem seems to be cured by a combination of electric pump, insulated fuel lines, and using only premium fuel. I went all last summer and this winter with no problems.
