#31 is today or tomorrow so I can beat the rain.

Normally, it would be dry with brown grass right now and I wouldn't have mowed in a month or more because of no rain. Today looks everything like a spring day with green grass and lush gardens. Other than the grass, it's great.

#32 mowing today and we are now in a torrential downpour. Just can't catch a break.

I don't think we will get a break this summer. Our first "wetness" of any kind is likely to be our first fall snow. We are well over 45 days without a drop of rain.

My winter squash are holding up amazingly well under this wilting wx - 103 F again late this afternoon. Looking outside the scene looks like one of those old tin-type photographs. Everything is a brownish color - we continue to get smoke from wildfires in British Colombia, Idaho and Western Montana plus anything that may sprout up around here. I'm now down to an area the size of half a tennis court that is still green. The remaining lawns are a beautiful desert tan.

Here in WI, this year has been the wettest on record. I mow the yard every 4 days and the field every 14 days. I need a vacation.

You're already in vacationland. "Come vacation in Wisconsin" are some of the ads I've seen around here.
Now what?

I think you have lost count, we just hit 54 days without measurable precipitation here on the west side. Finally got a bit of a break in 90 degree plus daily temperature, it was only 88 today. I know that it is an exceptionally hot year, and a week or so ago when the weather forecast was for highs of ninety degrees and it didn't sound unbearably hot I knew that I must be a little crazy. As a native western Washingtonian for whom eighty degrees was really warm growing up this has been a crazy hot summer.

That reminded me of watching the price is right.

Alot of times they have nice 6-day vacations to some beautiful tropical paradise or something. Other times I see 6-day vacations to Vermont, or new Orleans, or NY City.....or some other US city/state that I wouldn't ever consider vacationing to for 6-days

Finished the year with around 40 mowings but I lost count so it could be 42 or even 43. We are 10" above normal rainfall for the year and got almost 3 inches last night. Normally 22 or 23 mowings is enough and this has been quite a year. No more seat time needed for a while.

Well - here it is 11-6-2017 and we got our first REAL moisture yesterday. There is now 3 1/2 of fresh snow on the ground. My "lawns" can start their fall recovery under a nice blanket of snow.

What did you get for rainfall for the year?
