I'm missing something here.
If my neighbor became unfriendly and told me to not trespass on his land I would make him define where exactly his land ends and mine starts. I know where the property line is but if he became difficult I would force him to pay for a survey and clearly define his boundaries.
I doubt it would ever come to that.

Why are we even discussing this then? You say you know where the line is. Just stay on your side...

He may very well know where the property line is as well, so you may not be able to force him to do anything, just saying.

Doesn't matter. If the neighbor became difficult and told me to stay off of his land I would counter with "Where does your property line end?"
He would have to define it or go pound sand.
Again, I don't see this ever happening

Of course he can, it's the internet. People love to post advice for other people to live by. You do you, and the next time you think about posting it like this, think twice.
Ooops, there I go giving advice again.

No, it is YOUR responsibility to know the property lines as you are the one wandering around the countryside. YOU are the one directing your feet to go onto other people's property.

It may not be located wrong. In our township there is a 12 foot setback supposed to be factored in on fences. In other words a fence is supposed to be 12 feet inside the actual property line. Nobody here does it though because after 80 rods that adds up to a fair amount of land you cant use / graze / whatever. If you have much fence it adds up in a hurry

Most people around here recess their fences at least 10’ back from their property lines so they can maintain the “outside” of their fences without trespassing on neighbors property.
