I checked the blades, that rock must have hit back toward the center of the blade, no damage to the cutting edges. I suppose I'll go around and trim some trees tomorrow. I'm toying with the idea of getting the mulching kit so I don't have to worry about throwing clippings in my wife's flower garden. I wish you could get a rear discharge deck. That would be quite the engineering trick.

Been thinking about a small Kubota for mowing and other stuff. You seem to like the mowing so far. Anything else you like or don't like?

So far I like it a lot. I need to get it into some deep thick grass to see how it handles it. I read some complaints that the deck likes to leave windrows. It didn't today, but it was the first cutting of the year. I was really just hitting the high spots, I cut maybe half an acre and it was low enough in some areas that I had trouble seeing where I had been. Not really a good test of my normal routine. I generally put mowing off till it's really obvious that I need to go do it and then I wait one more week. I have dead patches from clippings being too thick. I figure once the weeds take over, there won't be so many grass clippings to worry about. LOL

The mulch kit really chops up the grass on my BX1860. I pulvarized 12 in tall clippings last week!

I can clear this branch with the ROPS , but it looked rather low
last month . I stopped to look for a fracture , and this was
weighing it down . Would have dropped right in my lap if
I'd knocked it ! 7' Carpet Python , sleeping off a meal.

That would of been the end for me. If not the big one, I would of broke my neck trying to get out of there.

We love my wife's BX2660 for mowing as well as a lot of other tasks, it is one of our favorite machines.

"Mulch kit"? I never even though about that for a "tractor", but I guess it makes sense. Still lots to learn.

Yes, they offer a kit for the deck that has an internal baffle to change the air flow, a plug for the discharge that extends into the deck a bit and of course the mulch blades. It runs $200+ for all of it. The blades are $66. I was thinking that they could be sourced elsewhere for less, but I haven't take the time to look.

After spending some time on TBN yesterday, I decided to take the snowblower off my BX2660. Thanks everyone for prompting me to do that by talking about cutting grass.....ITS SNOWING OUT...... AGAIN!!
