mower blade removal

I took my blades off today for sharpening. Kubota 60 inch MMM. The book calls for a 1 3/16 or 30mm socket but my 1 1/4 inch impact socket worked just fine on a Craftsman 1/2 inch impact wrench. The pneumatic impact wrench can't be beat for this purpose. Once you start using pneumatic tools and have compressed air available for tires, general cleanup of dirt, dust and grass debris on the tractor or floor, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Save your money for the pneumatic system and use your old socket set and ratchet until then.

If I go with an air compressor, it'll be almost double that, but I will have a compressor.

You want an aircompressor, you need and aircompressor. You GOTTA HAVE an aircompressor. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

It is one of the most useful tools in my shop. The only problem is that air tools seem to multiply quicker than rabbits. Impact wrench, butterfly wrench, ratchet, drill, sander, spray gun, tire inflater, nailer (what a timesaver & makes hacks like me look like I do good work) the list is almost endless

Air tools are lighter & generally stronger than electrics. You'll get the "Honey do list" done quicker & with a bigger grin on your face.

Dare I compare it to an FEL. Once you've got one, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

I'm with you, hazmat; just don't understand how anyone could get by without an air-compressor of some kind.
