My cub cadet RZT 50 blows the 20 amp fuze everytime I pull the pto switch on to engage the blades.
I am not an engine minded person so please stay with me.
I have changed the PTO switch, I have also bought a new solenoid (told that :(is not the issue) so I wasted my money.
My lawn mower is about 4 years old.
Man my grass is now full of pigmies and I am emarassing the rest of the family with our un kept lawn and yard.
HELP.
Thank you all

Maybe a wire rubbing somewhere wore the insulation off and shorts when you pull the switch.

Look under the rear of the mower and pull the plug connector off the PTO and see if it still blows the fuse. If it does the wiring is shorted and you'll need to look at the wires all the way back to the relay. If it only blows with it plugged in the coil on the pto clutch is shorted and you need a new clutch.

Before you buy a new clutch, remove the plastic coating covering the two wires that go into the clutch. I've worked on a couple machines that had the two wires underneath that coating worn and rubbing together causing a fuse to blow. Just a thought, good luck.

I had a different brand machine that had a pretty awful fuse holder for the glass tube fuses that was causing my fuses to blow I guess because of poor connections. I replaced it with a blade type fuse holder from the auto parts store and no more problems.
