Mower Class Action Suit

I received a card in the mail also. I assume its based upon me buying my 2542. I totally agree with Big Bri. I feel as though my machine has also lived up to my standards and that I have not been wronged so how can I put my name on the lawsuit. I'm glad I don't have any plans to buy a new mower anytime soon, because if there is a large payout from all these manufactures they will be looking to recoup the cost somehow and in the end it will be the consumer. Just my two pennies worth.

I signed up for a similar class action a couple years ago. It was for hard drive manufacturers stating a higher capacity than the drive actually had. I purchased a Western Digital 1600 drive that was involved. My final settlement was a free download of a backup program, which I couldn't care less about since I was happy with my current backup software. Another lawsuit several years ago involving something about CD's netted me around $7. The lawyers are the only ones profiting.

In most of these cases the corporations agree to a settlement and set aside a certain sum that is divided up among the participants. By declining to join the class action you won't receive anything and your share will just be divided among the rest (more for me). You may feel better about it but it really won't change the cost to the corporation, which will be written off against their taxes. I totally agree that we are becoming a nation of law-suit happy citizens. You spill hot coffee on yourself and sue McDonalds for millions.
Gee, I wonder if my new car is really putting out 275 HP?

my xmark would get me "up to $35" but i know that this is all about lawyers trying to make a bunch of $ $ $ and to but someone out of business, i for one have gotten 10 years out of my xmark and never noticed in problem so i'm not jumping on the band wagon.
x2.* I got one and thought for a minute.* Then realized I don't care if my 20 HP Cub is 18 or 22, it cuts my grass so I chunked it.

These lawsuits are almost always settled out of court and the amount of money is agreed upon. The money is going to be divided among those who file. The more who file, the less each will get & vice-versa. So really you might as well file. I do think these lawsuits where safety or reliability are not involved should be thrown out.
