Some time ago I thought I read of someone buying a cheap deck height gauge from J.D.. Anyone know the part number, or where the parts man can find it? Seems like it would make leveling alot easier with two of them when reinstalling the mmm.

I just went out to the garage and got mine...but there is no part # on it anywhere!

My dealer has them sitting on the shelf, they are yellow-about 12" long and 4" high, and cost's about $8.00. Maybe you could call another dealer? I can get a picture of mine if that would help you...

The part is called a Leveling Gauge, #AM130907. Cost $8 at my local JD dealer.

tglass, I still have the carboard the gage was attached to. It is called "Leveling Gauge for Mower Decks" and the part number is AM130907. I bought it at an Ag dealer that also sells lawnmowers. It is simple and works on the 72" MMM and any other mower as well.

Buy two - one for each side. That way you don't have to
move it side-to-side or back-to-back. First time you have to move
the thing around a few times, $8 looks really cheap.

Best of luck.

The leveling gauge is a great little tool.

I fine tune my finish mowers twice a year with it -

Remember you need to adjust both side/side and front/back.

Both my finish decks call for 1/4" lower in the front.
