Mowing Mower Deck Stands

The mower stands are fantastic, very high quality product, and delivery was quick.
I considered trying to make some myself but after reading reviews and opinions on the mower axle I decided to make a purchase. Well worth every dollar spent.
Eventually I'll post a picture and send one to Larry, as I promised him I would.

I really thought it would be harder to stand the deck upright, but it was a piece of cake. There is a safety chain included but you'd have to really do something spectacular to make it fall (or have curious youngsters running about). The hardest part of the whole job was swapping out the rear scalp rollers.

Today I put my mower on the stands for the second storage season. They're such a simple and excellent solution to mower maintenance and storage.:)

they look like they are a great idea - however all the pics i have seen are on a concrete garage floor. my tractor and stuff is stored in a garage with a crusher run stone floor. I wonder if those tiny wheels can be rolled on the stone floor ? has any one tried it ?

There are models with larger 5" wheels for gravel drives. I have no experience with them, but maybe somebody else here does.

I just removed my 60" MMM deck for the season. I had read about Larry's mower axles on these forums, and ordered a set to make cleaning the accumulated grass easier. They are very well made, the deck is very stable, and cleaning and storage will be a snap. If you are wondering how to deal with that 300lb+ deck, this just may be your answer.

I picked up a set this fall. I'd highly recommend them. And Larry was easy to do business with as well (needed a change of delivery address. just sent him a note. he responded with an acknowledgement of the updated delivery address and a tracking number for the dhl shipment.)

to all,
i also have a set of the mower deck stand axles, and would agree that it is money well spent. they are a great storage solution.
though, i do have a question. how do you go back and forth between the stand axles v.s. caster wheels on the rear of the mower deck? my deck is upright now. i could lift it by strap or chain by the fel, change out the axle stands for the caster wheels and then roll. anybody have a better/easier way to do it? often times, i miss the obivious (saint joseph's university).
thanks, shrekbelly

I wonder the same thing. Since i made wooden wheels and used a 1 inch bolt for axel i find myself using bucket to lift the deck to upright position.I then swap the axels to stands and moving it to where I need it in the garage. I can't exactly roll it since its loose gravel stuff. That deck sure is heavy.

I will just lower it back down then block up the back of the deck with 2x4's high enough to remove the axles and replace the scalp rollers. At least that's the theory since I haven't actually tried it yet.

Basically thats how I do it. I use chains to lift my MMM from horizontal to vertical and while I have it up at a comfortable height, thats when I swap the rear anti-scalp wheels out for the mower axles and vice-versa. Only takes a minute or two.

I agree on these mower axles being handy, makes the stowing and servicing of the MMM very easy.

Anyone try it on a New Holland 72" deck or is the deck too heavy to put that much weight on 2 wheels because of the design?

I don't know what your deck look like, but I but a pair on my Kubota 60" deck last night, and I don't know how you could break them. They are also kind of a slick wheel, so you can slide the deck sideways.

Thanks for your input! Have you had any issues with the mower gearbox seal leaking while it is on the stands? I think you have the same mower I have.
Thanks,
Barney
Yes, my deck was on the stands for the previous 4 months, and slowly leaked about 1/3 of the gearbox oil.
Mower is a RCK54-23BX, brand new last fall.
I guess I'll have to decide next fall whether to allow the leak, drain it first, or not use the stands.

How do you know which model deck stand goes with which deck. I've got a kobota 60 inch deck 2 yrs old.

Later I've got some lurching to do.

I just got a pair of Larry's mower stands. They are fantastic! Very well made & work as advertised. I wish I bought them a few years ago - they would have saved a few bruises. I didn't want to drop $100 on them, but they are worth it!

Another A+ for Larry's mower stand. The #40 fit my MMM (RCK60-27BA) for my B3200. It's great to get that beast upright and more out of the way. Thanks Larry! I got it the next day after I ordered.

I got a set in February and they are really nice, well worth the $$. Hung a chain fall from the garage ceiling and that's what I use to muscle the 60" deck around.
