Just a heads up, I took the bearings out of JD spindle for an X300 that I had to replace. Interesting that the bottom bearing did not have an inner seal on it. This was a dealer bought spindle. The top bearing have both seals on it. Hmmmm, why the bottom bearing did not have the inner seal is beyond me while the top did. It also had the spacer in the housing like another post suggested and it did make it harder to get the bearings out. The bearings look okay to me and feel smooth but hard to tell with just turning by hand. The bearings look identical to me, part numbers are the same. Will order two new bearings and see how it lasts when the next spindle gives out.
