And it'll always be that way because we each have our personal preferences. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I'm one of those who liked the 3-point best, but that doesn't mean one is actually better than the other.

3-point will probably cost less, if you should decide someday to change mower or tractors, it'll work on nearly any tractor while the belly mower is specific to that brand and model of tractor. 3-point is easier to hook up, unhook, can be raised higher to clean under it or inspect the bottom, remove and/or sharpen blades, and can be backed under shrubs or other obstacles.

Belly mower keeps the overall length of the rig shorter, might be easier to maneuver in tight quarters, can be transported on a shorter trailer, you can look down at the edge of it to see just where it is without straining your neck looking back, the blades get to the grass before your rear wheels run over it and mash it down, etc.

So . . . . , there's only one thing to do . . . buy the one you like best! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Remember that the mid PTO is optional on the B7800, it can be added for somewhere around $300.00 if you don't have one already. If you have the folding ROPS, you probably have the mid PTO also.

I too am considering MMM or 3-pt mower, but at this point, I am leaning toward 3-pt for my B7510DT. Only one drawback that I can see is that 3-pt will be harder to transport as it will be quite a bit longer. One point of confusion: the Implement Limitation Guide in the Operators Manual recommends 300 pounds max for a rear mower, but then Kubota themselves recommend the RFM60 mower which is 550 pounds!! Also, the guide recommends a 48" blade max, but in turn they will tell you (and have sold me and others) a 60" B2763 blade! What gives???

I have a B2910 with a Kubota 72" MMM. I have been very satisfied with this unit and find it much easier and faster to use than a rear mounted 3 pt unit. It is also very easy to remove, but sometimes I will just pin it in the "up" position when using three pt implements such as a back blade or my Woods Backhoe.

Also, the belly mower is much easier when mowing aroud obstacles such as trees, than is a rear mounted mower.

The disadvantage- This unit only works on the Kubota and cant be moved to another tractor easily like a 3 pt mower. If that is not a concern, definitely get the Kubota MMM. The 72" cuts quick, is very heavy duty, and has served me well.

Good points so far as it boils down to personal preference. The biggest factor for me would be the area I was going to mow. If it was mostly open with few trees or other obstacles to mow around I'd go with the RFM. If there were many trees/obstacles (like it is in my yard) I wouldn't consider anything other than a MMM.
