Mower Lift, Mechanical vs independent?

I just purchased a 2305 with the independent lift and my dealer said that Deere was considering a second SVC on these machines to solve the problem of utlilizing a port on the loader valve. The one positive feature of the independent lift is that the 3 point can stay up. I found before they installed the independent lift the I-match would occasionally drag the ground.

What I WISH I could have is independent mower lift with separate lever and hydraulics .... AND, the ability to remove the 3 pt hitch when not in use easily and quickly, throw a lever and lift off. because the mechanical mower lilft sux. and the 3ph sticks out so far out the a** of my 2210 it affects manueverability and can't use the drawbar at all /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. ah dreams......

Short of another SCV, it sounds like JD needs to go back to the design they had on my 1987 755. The independent lift for the MMM worked through the loader DSCV but it was permanently plumbed in. No connecting and disconnecting of hoses required. When you were done with the mower you raised it using the curl function on the loader control and turned the cutting height adjuster all the way to the stop. This locked the MMM in the raised position. The adjuster was conveniently located on the floor just in front of the seat. It was a round almost flush gizmo with a flip over handle. The knob on the handle engaged 1 of 4 equally spaced holes when it was in the stowed position. I think each hole added or subtracted about 1/4" of cuttng height. I think my standard cutting height required 1-3/4 turns and I could easily adjust to changing conditions by adding or subtracting a 1/4 or 1/2 turn. I thought this system worked out very well.

If the loader was on the tractor the bucket did dump just a little when the mower was lowered to cutting height. The amount of dump was hardly noticeable but it was enough to allow the bucket to jiggle some. I hardly ever mowed with the loader on but when I did I would naturally want to curl the bucket tight when I heard the jiggle noise. This of course would also raise the deck. JD did provide a pin for both sides of the bucket to lock the bucket in full curl but I did not use them.
