Mowing Mower not engaging

I own a 1991 Snapper Model YT18H with Hydrostatic Transmission and electric
clutch to engage mower blades. The blades are engaged by operating an on/off
switch. My problem is that the mower blades do not engage when I operate the
switch. I can hear something clicking when I operate the switch. The tractor starts OK. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the ground wire on the PTO clutch. I had a Simplicity mower with a loose ground wire on the electric clutch that caused it not to engage. Other possibility is that it's engaging, but your belt is either off the pulley or the belt is broken.

Need more information. You need to figure out if the clutch is engaging and the belt slipping, or if the clutch is not engaging at all. First check is the wiring if it isn't engaging, as Happy suggested. The next step is to check the air gap on the electric clutch if it is adjustable...Most are. If neither of those fix it, it may be a bad coil in the clutch. Way too many variables, you just need to start ruling things out.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to start looking this weekend at the easier ones, belt broken, ground wire etc.
