Mowing Mower won't stat up

I have a 2305 JD with a 62" belly mower. My son was using the mower today and got off for something . When he tried to start the mower back up , it would not start. I cannot find any fuses?? Does anyone have the answer. Hate to have to go to JD as it will cost me an arm and leg.

Did he shut the PTO off for the mower first before he got off?

I too suspect that your son just shut the key off, without shutting off the mower deck PTO. Then that switch may still be "engaged" which will cause a "no start" situation. Have had it happen before, and it is very frustrating because it is so subtle. Felt foolish when finding the problem.

I must have not been clear in my post. The tractor will start and run but the PTO will not engage. I wonder if there is a fuse that is shot. He may have stopped without shutting off the PTO??
