Mowing Mowing in the dark

I decided to avoid the heat yesterday and mowed at night. Great way to put in extra seat time

Yeah, I get a kick out of mowing at night too.

When it's dusty, I like to get the mowing done early in the morning instead. You know, catch the morning dew on the grass.
Sometimes mowing into the night, the temp hasn't dropped that much.

I love it too but, it does tend to tic off the neighbors, especially when their cats come up missing in the a.m. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. ...Not to mention a few bruizes on the J.D., and my face from the branches I "thought" I was far enough from. Guess I need two or three more banks of lights. That would please the neighbors even more /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Mowing at night doesn't seem like the safest thing to do. I have never tried it, but I would think your vision couldn't possibly be as good even with headlights. You are more likely to run over something that will strain your marriage. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Like somebody stated above, it doesn't cool down very fast after sun down, and early morning might be the better time to mow. More light, cool temps, less dust.

They say evening is the best time as it gives the grass a chance to recover prior to seeing direct sun and heat. In fact, She's out on the 455 mowing right now...
