</font><font color="blue" class="small">( The deck on my riding mower is angled down in front to that the blade(s) only cut on the forward half of their swing. This helps discharge. When mowing in reverse, the blades would be cutting all the way around. Maybe the same kind of set up on our mower(?)

You know, I think you hit on it! I've always been puzzled by that arrangement. Even with the rear wheels adjusted for as high a cut as possible, if I lower the front of the mower all the way I pretty much scalp the lawn. So I have to set my rockshaft lever up a little bit to get the cut I want. Always seemed a weird arrangement to me.
Maybe I don't want the rear wheels adjusted for the highest cut?
I'll figure this out someday.. probably on my deathbed I'll smack myself in the head and say "Of course!" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
