I'm getting ready to do a test run with my 10' mower and my ford 5000. Anyone here run with this setup?

Also.. what size / style disc's are people pulling with 5000's?

My neighbor pulls a ten ft. disk with his no problems.

If the ground isn't too heavy and wet you can pull a 12' disc. Otherwise a 10' disc will work very well behind your machine. I pull a 12' behind my TN 65 but in wet ground I drop down to the 10'. I have pulled a nice, heavy 14 footer but it was slow going and not something I would put the TN thru again. However, I would pulled that same 14 with my friends TN 75 2wd cabbed machine with the same ease as my FWA TN65 would pull the 12. HP wise I think the 5000 is equal the the TN75 so you have a nice range of disc to choose from as the 10 disc is highly sought after and thus brings a lot of money most of the time (at least in my area). 12 and 14's usually goes a lot cheaper.

Also, forgot to mention, my neighbor runs a 10' pull behind Woods cutter behind his 4630 Ford unless his 7700 is free. The 4630 handles it fine but is an open station which is why he prefers the 7700 which has a cab. Have fun with it.

So when are you getting the 15 foot mower for the 7610?

If howse will hurry up and get their 'copy' of a flex 15 out.. I'm kinda interested in that one. Via email reply to a question of mine nearly a year ago, they said they were 'working' on one.

I've already sent a PM on this subject, after seeing it posted on another site. I case anyone else is interested though...

I had a 5000 Ford back in the late '70's. I used a Ford 4 X 14" mounted plow, a 12' International disc, and on occasion, a 15' Bush Hog bat-wing mower. The plow was a load, but never too much of a load. The disc was perfect. I could cruise along at 5 to 6 MPH in plowed ground. The 15' batwing was a little much in heavy weeds. It was OK for clipping pastures, but I'd suggest something a tad smaller for the heavy stuff. The 10'er aughtta be a breeze for the 67 HP 5000.
