Mowing with R-3\'s or R-4\'s

As I consider moving up to a TC35D and a quality rear mount/rear discharge mower, I am wondering whether its large R-3's or R-4's would mash the grass the least before the mower mows the grass.

Mike.

I have the R-4 tires on my TC45D & I use it with my 6' finishing mower. They don't seem to cause any problem with the grass mashing down as long as it is half way dry. For the most part it does as nice a job as my 19 hp rider which is a whole lot lighter. If the soil is really wet they will sometimes leave a little imprint, but nothing too bad. My last tractor had Ag tires & that created an imprint problem, so I wouldn't recomend those if you're going to use it to mow lawn.

Re: Mowing with R-3\'s or R-4\'s

Mike,
I have mowed as a sideline business for years with mowers from 5' to 15' cutting width.
What I have found is, if you run
over your grass with four tires, your mower will probably not
cut it.I am waiting for delivery of my TC35D with R-4 tires and
an 84" mid-mount, rear discharge finish mower.The R-4 tires
offer good traction, so you can still use a loader, and not put cleat marks in your yard .
And with a belly mower, you only
smash your grass with the two front tires.
