For those of you who were interested in this topic when I posted before, you can now visit http://essentials.msn.com/access/satellite.asp for some more information. Although they aren't taking signups now, I guess they will be soon.
I read the fine print at the bottom of that page, and I would be careful with some of what they require you to do for their 'promotional offer'. Once the service comes out there will probably be a second option that lets you subscribe with a 3-month contract... with the 1-year contract you need to put up $1000+ to get hooked up and if you cancel, you only get 30% of the unused monthly fees back...
But it is coming soon.... I guess the connection speed will be something between 256 and 512kbps... which isn't bad if your only other option is a dial-up connection.
