So I go to check the oil and where the manual says the dipstick is, on mine is just a cap identical to the filler cap on top.
what's up with that?

Mine is on the lower left side, just above the frame rail. Pulls sort of out to the left side. Weird place for sure.
If you're looking at page 5-6 in the manual, don't look where it says 'Engine Oil Gauge' on the diagram. Look at the curly q loop closer to the oil filter.

Ya, that's where I looked but still don't see it.. the air filter assy is blocking a lot of the view, tomorrow I yank that off and see... the only thing i can see that's yellow is a cap that LOOKS like that's where the dipstick would logically be but it's a duplicate of the filler cap on top.
I thought the dipstick on my plane was a pain...

To the rear of the oil filter...you can see it without removing anything or lifting the hood.

Bingo! found it... i wasnt looking down far enough
thanks!btw.. oil level was good.. but the hyd fluid wasn't i'm off to TSC
