MT357HC getting delivered tomorrow: do I need wheel spacers?

Please measure the outside width of the rear tire stance. I had thought that the published width were the ends of the axle putting the actual width about a foot wider with R1 Ag tires, but maybe not? :confused3:
I have the XR series. At it's widest point (including the bulge in the tire, mine is right about 73-74 inches wide. BUT, I have 2" wheel spacers on both sides, so figure 69-70 inches.

I only bought 2 inch spacers because otherwise, it puts the tires at an odd width for running 6' wide implements. My box blade is right at the width of the tread. My snowblower is 74" wide, so it just covers the wheels.

Honestly, though, I wish I would have put 3 inch spacers on each side. I am on very rocky, uneven ground. I've never come close to tipping, but the extra stability would be appreciated for me.

Thanks for the info, so it is not 66".

I have the R4 industrials. Rear lug to lug is 68.5" I'll measure sidewall to sidewall in a bit. My understanding is that the R1s are skinnier so the listed spec of 63.5" is probably correct.

Did you identify/confirm any differences from the xr series besides the linked throttle? Are you pleased with the machine thus far? I am looking at purchasing one tomorrow, and am interested in any information you can give. Thanks.

I never been on or in an XR series so I can't be much help. I can tell you that I absolutely love my MT357HC. The only other tractor I've owned was my open frame Branson 4020 which was a shuttle shift. I love the hydro. I can get around much faster when using my grader scrape and FEL.

I can confirm the MT357HC has 3 rear remotes, the 3pt control lever in the rear, extendable side links, category II 3 point and all the other stuff I read the XR4155HC has.

The cab is wonderful and the AC works great. I was putting a lot of dirt on my dirt pile in a heavy head wind. So much swirling dirt that I couldn't see out the front or side windows. No dust came inside the cab. It is sealed very well. I wish LS made cabbed side by sides.

The seat is wonderful. Adjustable spring rate and the back reclines. Adjustable arm rests.

If you have an specific questions before you go look at one don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you. I am most likely getting one today. I must say that LS has done a poor job of informing dealers about upgrades and changes to the new models. The dealer I will be using supplies most of the southern US with tractors (assembles and ships). Even he is clueless to the differences. After talking to a LS rep I was able to get a list of supposed changes. In addition to the linked throttle, it is supposed to have a neutral on the pto switch, an upgraded steering pump, an upgraded loader valve, and an upgraded tune (hence the 2 extra HP). No dealer can confirm or deny any of this. While I am there I will try to take pics of both the MT357 and the XR4155 ( the obvious differences) incase anyone is like me and on the fence about which one to get ( there are quite a few xr models left down here). I will also try to negotiate a pdf of the factory service manual, so I might be able to help if someone has issues in the future. Even with the lack of info I have pretty muck chosen LS( JD left me high and dry on my 5055E while still well within warranty, and CHN wants too much to put a logo and stickers on a LS). Im not afraid of parts support, beacuse I believe I will be able to get parts from my CNH dealer if all else fails ( that of course is assuming next years boomer and farmall will incorporate all of the LS upgrades). Hopefully I will be enjoying that nice A/C soon just like you ( heat index was 108 here yesterday). Im also glad to know that the cab seals up well, It will be nice to be able to hop off the tractor and drive somewhere with out getting my seats sweaty and dirty.

I understand that LS added more space between the radiator and all the cooler cores .. to make cleaning easier as well. That's a plus in a dusty environment.

Pre-congrats are in order. If you like to keep you equipment nice and new looking Scotchguard the seat and put some Rainex on the glass after you polish out all the water spots from shipping. Then wipe down the entire exterior with some Aerospace 303 to prevent sun fade and make it easier to clean up.

Just ordered one should be delivered on Monday or Tuesday.

The factory add on for the loader 3rd function is now the Walvoil valve. I think they didn't use this before due to clearance issues which are gone now that they made the valve horizontal.
