Hi all,

I just got a MTD Tractor Mower from a friend for cheap. I'm gonna use it for Snow Removal this winter. Everything seems to be fine, I was able to push the Mower back and fourth to put in the truck to drive home. When I got it home, I took the Mower Deck / Blade off since I don't need it, after that I was able to push it on my deck for fine tuning...

Now the Brake is STUCK I think.... If I start the Tractor I am able to drive back and fourth... and Neutral works too... But if I turn the engine off, key is out and the Tractor is in Neutral, parking brake is released. I can't move it anymore... It seems the Brake is LOCKED UP!!!

Please help me!!!

Thank you!!!!!

Is this a Gear or hydrostatic transmission? If it's Hydrostatic, there should be a knob on the back part of the tractor between the wheels that you pull to have it free wheel. At least on mine :p

OMG..... It WORKED!!!!

It is a hydrostatic transmission. It was kinda hard to find cause grass was everywhere and stuck in there, and since I know NOTGHING about this, first time owning one... But mechanical inclined, I was able to find it quickly.... But with your help of course :)

THANK YOU !!!:D

THANK YOU, THANK YOU... GLAD YOU ARE AROUND ;)

No problem, glad it worked  (might have been easier if I re-read my post... I changed "...between with wheel..." to "...between the wheels...")

Hehe....

Yah, I looked at both just incase hehehhee....

It was not behind - behind... But it was between on the Front of the behind wheels... It was not a knob, but a contraption of some sort. When I saw the Grass behind it, I knew that it must be what you are talking about.

I took all the Grass off, then there is a Spring and a Stick that stuck to it, I wiggle that stick and there is a part that moved, but more Grass was behind there, so I Clean it all out, then that stick moved freely... The Spring does NOT spring back, so I think it was the problem. But once I did that, I pushed it and it moved, so I knew that was it.

I might have to take that Spring out and fix it and put it back. I don't want to go under it when it's Snowing out, LOL

But you did point it to the right Direction tho, I'm glad people like you are around when I was pulling all my hair out, LOL

Did I tell you I'm all BALDED now, J/K LMAO

Thankx again!
