Fine prior suggestions, and I've used both methods in the past - fair sized rocks, if you must fill it up, or dig a culvert or bury a drain (I've got 5 buried drains on my property, moving water from shallow springs) - course, though the shortest distance between 2 points is a usually a straight line, such is not always the easiest - how about taking a detour around the sink/mud hole?
