Mule 3010: $8799.00
Mule 3010 Diesel: $9999.00

Trans Mule: $9599.00
Trans Mule Diesel: $10,799

Lift kit for dump bed $1199.00 plus installation:eek:

Why is the lift kit so expensive?

Don't know about the Kawasaki OEM bedlift, but this is the one I have. It's $100 more than I paid, but I think it's worth it. I put this on my wife's Mule and it's one of our favorite accessories. I don't think it will work on the Trans model. It raises the bed 1-1/2" and that would make the trans bed not work properly.

Jim, I remember reading your thread about installing the bedlift. And you are right, I don't think it would work on the TransMule. The dealer did say on the Trans they would have to cut something and re-route the exhaust. I did not look at that part real close as I was pressed for time.

I had researched pricing back in the summer with with hopes of buying by November of '07 since we thought our house would be completed at that time. Since the house was delayed I put off buying a UTV.

Now that we are close to moving in our house I am back to getting pricing and test driving. I have told dealers it would be about 2 months before I was ready to buy since I have a lot of landscaping and dirt moving I need to do with the tractor. If I buy a UTV now it will distract me from the tractor work I NEEd to do:) .

I received the following pricing yesterday. All prices plus tax.

Mule 3010: $8799.00
Mule 3010 Diesel: $9999.00

Trans Mule: $9599.00
Trans Mule Diesel: $10,799

Lift kit for dump bed $1199.00 plus installation:eek:

Why is the lift kit so expensive?

Polaris 500 UTV: $9499.00

Lift kit for dump bed $599.00 plus installation.

Kubota RTV900 Worksite: $10,900.00 (Dealer said they just received a price increase).

Kubota dealer also had a used RTV900 that someone traded on a RTV1100.

The used one was sold by them in 2006 but was received Nov.'05. It has 229 hours and a curtis cab with heater. The cab was nice but it was loud inside while driving it around...but it was nice.

Asking price for the used RTV $11,000.00

I still need to look at the JD XUV but I had my closest JD dealer shut down. He was there one week gone the next.

How do these prices look?

What do you think about the used RTV (excellent condition)?

And why is the lift kit so expensive for the Mule?

Here's a response about the price of the XUV compared to the RTV, ""Milkman if it was any better than the gators or rangers I would own one.
I'm on my 3rd gator. The ranger is the only vehicle that drove as good and felt as strong as my 1st hpx.
The rtv was $4800 more than the xuv when I last traded.
Don't get me wrong, the rtv felt very sturdy and it had the best cockpit of any utv I had driven.
It isn't worth the higher price imho... and it is only 3 wheel drive.."

So if the RTV is $11000, you should be able to get the XUV for $6200

The price difference of $4800 that you are quoting was for an 1100 rtv.
I don't have a clue how you came up with $6200.. Sounds like a bargain tho... :)

Didn't see anything about 1100 in the post so I assumed it was the 900, my mistake, the 900 goes for $11000 or there about so your $48oo less from that amount would be $6200 difference.

OP looking for pricing on UTVs, although XUV not mentioned in OP topic, for the seeming good deal (although I assumed he was talking about the RTV 900) The XUV at that price would be a no brainer, He clarified he was referencing 1100, disregard.. What's with the personal issues comment????

I just wanted to add my two cents worth to the discussion about the UTV's. I just traded my John Deere 6x4 Gator Diesel in on a John Deere Gator XUV 850 Diesel. The new Gator is unbearably noisy inside the cab without hearing protection, about 108 decibels I installed the noise reduction kit and it cut down the noise by 5 decibels to about 103, which makes a noticeable difference, but is still too loud. I took off the doors and measured the noise level at 97 decibels but driving the XUV on dirt roads without doors caused so much dirt to swirl into the cockpit it wasn't any fun any more. The ride on the XUV is very smooth but there are so many disappointments besides the noise, like a vibration in the front drive, the clutch is exposed on the diesel but not on the gas, there's no heat, no storage, no leg room, no speed-o-meter and the list goes on. I have the new Power Tach blade which I like but even that has a few bugs John Deere should have worked out before they put it on the market. I didn't want the Polaris because it was gas and the cab is noisey too. I liked the Inteletrac on the Bobcat Diesel I demoed but the ride was spine jarring. My wife liked our old gator better than our XUV the old one was on our dealer's lot for only one day before it got sold, it had all the extras except a cab. I only have 10 hours on my XUV but I am thinking about trading it for a Kubota 1100 RTV. Price is about $2000 more for the Kubota and it comes with AC, heat, and 80 Decibel sound level in the cab. Including the Power Tach blade I have a little over $19,000 stuck in my XUV now and am not happy with it. I am not going to get into this with you. This isn't the first time you referenced something Skip has said in a previous thread trying to egg him into a disagreement.
