I carry the only slimline Glock they make. The Glock 36 .45 ACP. This gun is light, durable, compact, and has the best knockdown power. They are very accurate right out of the box, and has no more recoil than my older .40 cal model 23 Glock..........I like it long time.:)

Well I got to the range tonight, and she performs as expected. Very good groupings, all misses were my fault. I was there with a few friends and they all said that it felt like shooting a 9mm. With the weight of it, it shoots very smooth.

I also took my new .40 high point carbine rifle. It isn't sighted in, but it is very good, everyone like that as well. Very quiet and almost no recoil. My female friend that shot it was making ragged holes with it. Fun stuff.

I also got to shoot some friends guns, .38 revolver, .22 mag shoot and see, .357 revolver(shooting dirty fireball ammo), 9mm sig, and a compact M&P 9mm. So that was fun.

I sort of thought these pistols would serve my multi purposes. :D

Then, of course, you have the two concealed ones too...

Dargo what a Great choice for everything from home defence to WWWIII.

I used to tape a couple magazines together when I was in the military (M-4, M-16) That Desert Eagle will blow thru Walls, and get the guy behind a huge Oak tree.
I favor the more subtle Glock model 17 9mm. for concealed cary take on the smaller models although they holster really well and confortable.

I kind of like Glocks too. Here are the ones I have at my office. I might be what is commonly called a gun nut. :)

I thought you sold all those at a garage sale? I have heard the Desert Eagle .50 is no fun to shoot, your thoughts?

...As mentioned, I don't think hunting will go hand in hand with ease or comfort of carry. ...I think you would be far happier with 2 guns.

The right tool for the right job. I may not know much about tractors, but I do have lots of experience with guns. Glad to hear you went with the Sig, as said before, you can't go wrong there, and I think the .40 is a GREAT round, a good place between the 9mm and the .45. I have two Sigs, and love them both. The ammo is also very important once you select the gun because not all ammo is created equal. I think you are better off selecting a gun to carry and another to hunt with. Actually the cool thing about this philosophy is you get to buy as many guns as you can come up with a use for! ;)

I liked what I think it was Eddie who said the deal about even cops who train for it, rarely actually hit anyone they are shooting at in a shoot out. You're more likely to wet your pants than to hit anything of substance. That being said you want something that you can get to easily and be able to control. There's not much than can go wrong with a revolver - they are so basic, but some auto's are amazingly reliable (sig, HK). I do have a buddy who shot a deer with a .45 Glock and killed it in one shot, but I woudn't recommend it.

I'll close with this story, I had a cow who was down and suffering Christmas day of '07. I raised longhorns, so it only seemed fitting if I had to shoot her to use a single action revolver - cowboy style. I selected an 1875 Outlaw in .44-40. I let my bro-in-law do the honors. The first shot right in the forehead didn't seem to phase her. Neither did the next 2. Then I felt the bullet from the 4th shot bounce off her skull and hit me in the chest. A little freaked out, we figured out that the ammo we were using was not exactly up to spec. I retireved my Beretta 9mm from the truck and 1 shot more than did the job. Make sure you are using good, reliable ammo whatever you shoot with.

Uh, yeah, I did. Those are just old pictures.

Of all the firearms I had, it seems to be a tie between the Remington 700 chambered in .300 Winchester Mag and the cheapo Mossberg 3 1/2" magnum lightweight shotgun as to what is the most punishing to me. The DE .50AE seems somewhat anemic when compared to the .500 S&W Magnum or even the .460 S&W in 4" non-ported pistols. I suppose the Desert Eagle being so heavy along with (my theory) the semi-auto firearms kicking less makes it reasonable to shoot...except for the expense of the ammo.

I found the desert eagle in 50 action express to be too heavy and settled on an AMT automag V in the same chambering.. I liked it much better.. plus has a gasport3 from the factory.. and was 300$ cheaper than the DE
