MX 10 Pull Behind or hydraulics

/ MX 10 Pull Behind or hydraulics #41
OLD Thread Revived lol

I agree :D

Each hitch type has it purpose.

I'm wanting a 3pt lift type for backing up steep bank & driving forward down it.

The pull type is too heavy & real PITA for my application

Any other MX10 users / haters out there with input ?

I'm too poor to have a newer MX10, but I've got it's predecessor, the M1008 mounted. I love it. Just like you said, great versatility. I have TnT on my tractor as well so can droop the cutter down over a bank ledge, or tilt the cutter to cut on an uneven bank. Easy to turn around. Easy to back into those tight corners that I want to clean. I have to use front weights to use it without the FEL. But I like the setup.

The front weights are a definite if the loader isn't on, I usually run 400lb but I wouldn't mind going to 600 or even 800lbs would be nice. I love how easy it is to get into awkward places and dropping down over the steep banks as well as backing up stuff that's difficult to walk up.

I'd second the front weights when the loader is off. I run 400lb but I would like to add more for a little more comfort. The full mount is so much nicer for working in tighter areas. I mowed many acres with a trailed type and I wouldn't run another one unless it was dirt cheap or a bat wing for big areas! I like being able to drop the mower out of the edge of hills to knock down the thick stuff.

I don't have front weights but :
I'm running Frt & Rear R4 tires Completely full of fluid.
HUGE difference in ride & better traction = less wheel spin :D

I am wanting the 180lb front weight plate Bracket though because I think it looks Great with the Hood Guard.

I use 1000lbs and wish I had a couple more.

Wow! I thought I was a lil crazy for wanting some more. Maybe I'll get a few more just for peace of mind...

Go big or stay on the porch!!!! ;)

I'm on very steep terrain a lot. Couple times of having to quickly drop the cutter cause the front tires are 2ft off the ground and you add weight. ;)

I used my MX10 3pt. Lift Type cutter today mowing down, then backing Up a long steep bank beside my chicken Houses.
It did GREAT on my 5093E with frt weight brkt, FEL Off & all 4 tires 90% fluid filled :D

I couldn't be happier with the Combo.

JD 6410 4wd will NOT back a 15ft bat wing bush hog up this bank bone dry if that tell's you how steep it is.

I think the extra weight the mower puts on the rear tires vs the pushing of a towed mower makes all the difference. Glad to hear you like the setup!

Yep just like you mentioned, raise Cutter just a Little for more weight if tires starts to spin.
