MX 3pt ballast?

The specs for the Titan ballast box say the maximum capacity for the the box is 800 lbs so be careful about overloading it!

The two 80# wheel weights I hang on the box haven't caused any damage in the 3 years I've been using it. Thanks for the warning though.

If you have some scrap wood laying around make your own. I built this one, 1700 pounds, the tractor is much more stable with it on. No welding just drilled and bolted.

Cat Fever, if you don't mind can you give please give me the approximate dimension of your ballast box? Also how far apart are the lower metal steel pieces without the lift pins? Thank you in advance. Stanley.

I'm going off memory here, the ballast box is not at my house to measure it.

2'X2'X30" tall, the bottom steel is about a foot wide. If I had it to do over I would lay it on it's side (lower center of gravity) and spread the lift pins about 4 more inches.

I occasionally use this 3 pt to SSQA adapter to put my pallet forks or an old FEL bucket on the rear of my MX5800 for ballast:

With the FEL bucket on the rear, I can back into a gravel pile and use the hydraulic top link to scoop up as much weight as I need. Otherwise, I use the forks and load weight on a pallet. The nice thing about the adapter is you can use the FEL forks or any other SSQA attachment. You don't have to buy special 3 pt attachments.

Do any of you posters who have the Titan ballast box have a Cat 1 quick hitch on your tractor and if so is the Titan ballast box compatible with the quick hitch? I have read some yeas and neas to this question. One issue seems to be whether or not the J hook at the top of the quick hitch will fit with the top link arrangement on the Titan ballast box. I saw a you tube video that showed that for that Titan box owner there wasn't enough room behind the Titan box top link pin for the J hook to fit in. Thanks.
