I've been away from the tractor for about 9 months and during that time it got run a little less than monthly by my son who did driveway maintenance and some other chores and it was on a battery tender most of the time.

I got back a few days ago and the MX5800 has had a weird issue starting. Turn the key to run and let everything fire up and the glow plugs light up, takes no longer than normal. Turn the key to start and there is a very audible click like a lose connection and about very long pause then it fires right up. My initial thought was corroded leads but when I looked they appear clean. I haven't made time to actually clean/check/tighten the leads yet but wanted to be ready to track the issue down the line if that isn't it. Solenoid is my next suspect, then battery. Beyond that I'm at the limit of my electrical system knowledge:eek: Anyone have ideas on other easy stuff I need to be ready to look at?

You can't look at a battery cable and tell if is corroded inside the insulation, you need to use a meter and check for voltage drop.

There are a lot of YouTube instructional videos that will teach you how to do it.
