My MX has provisions for lights under each rear fender. I've read this is a 5 amp max circuit in another thread. If that's correct does that mean a combined 5 amp max between the two or 5 amps per side?

And correct me if I'm wrong but does 5 amps mean a total of 60 watts?

Seems low amps, but the manual shows a 5a fuse labeled “work light”. I guess to be sure you could put a meter on the wires and confirm the left / right are supplied by the single fuse.
Your math is correct of about 60 watts.
I put 2 rear 55w led lights on my tractor, and they are very bright. I don’t think you will be disappointed with (2) 30w leds.

Yes 60 watts is approximately correct (12 volts x 5 amp = 60 Watts, but battery voltage is typically assumed to be 12.6 volts).

Don't be mislead by the LED ratings that proliferate the LED lights. The ACTUAL current draw is far less than advertised, which is good for you. I posted the results here Post #18:

Here's another post where pictures of the lights were shown Post #7.

Any of these low cost lights will put out more than the stock halogen lights.

So I finally got around to checking the fuse box like I should have done in the first place. The work light fuse is 15 amps! Lol, I think I'll be ok.

That's interesting. The fuse in the work light circuit on my 2015 MX5800 is only 5 amps. The wiring under the fenders for the work light is 18 gauge which is rated for 7 - 10 amps max. I'm using it to power two 30 watt LED's which throw plenty of light.

No idea. Maybe they recognized the desire for additional lighting from the consumer and bumped it up.

I’ll check my few month old MX

For those interested I tested the extra wires under the fenders they are indeed the 15 amp work light circuit. They are switched on with the ignition switch. This is in a 2018 MX5200.

Hey all,

I also have a 2018 MX5200 and directly hooked up an LED light bar and two LED rear worklights to the work lamp circuit last year... but would like to be able to operate the lights with a switch.

It would be neat to wire these in with the factory head light so they use the rotary switch already on the tractor but I would have to abandoned the work light circuit. has anyone actually set up their work light circuit on a switch I would be interested in seeing what your set up looks like.

Just run an inline toggle switch between the work light hookup and the work light. Mount the switch somewhere on the lever panel.
