Would something like this work for this application?

I'm thinking pulling this through corners may be problematic, but the concept of the cultivators with a roller to condition the soil would seem to be a solution.

The Buckeye Tractor rig is basically that with no roller and a leveling bar instead of the spike harrow. They didn't think the roller would be of any use. Yes, I'm concerned with pulling through corners with any of the options.

Concept is good. However, you may break S-tines occasionally. S-tines are not very strong.

You know your conditions and what base and MX track needs better than I. If you decide on this route consider an Unverferth "Perfecta".

Have you evaluated Soil Pulverizer in Post #5?

This style of rigid tine cultivator allows individual tine height adjustment which should be helpful in banked turns and ample tine length:

On the dirt bike track I carved out of the pasture I used three pt disc and spike harrows after. Probably did ten trips around with the disc, half mile each. Also dragged the land plane around to level off the bumps a bit. Darn near lost my teeth doing a lap on my Kawasaki 250. The pasture had not been worked and was a tough job. Recently got a single row breaking disc but need to fix before I can use it. The track has packed quite a bit since it was first done.

Problem with every one of those videos, and I've seen them all, is they're all going in a straight line on flat ground. I won't be doing much of that. That's why I think gauge wheels are helpful. I don't want to be constantly adjusting the 3pt lift. That's also why I believe shorter overall length is also key. The simple 1 bar cultivator nails the short length, but does nothing to level. The Perfecta was a strong candidate, but again I don't need the roller, just like the Northstar unit. Also with the toolbar, I do have the option of possibly using it for something else in the future.
