MX4800 grill guard

Started building a brush guard for my tractor tonight, gonna be put on hold now for a few days because my loader is coming in tomorrow and it's gonna take priority. Still need to gather some springs and roll pins to fab up a spring pin latch and figure out what size expanded I'm going to use on it.

I like how you wrapped it around on the sides.

I just welded some expanded metal inside the existing guard on my B2650.

I cannot lie I stole the idea from Richard (ovrszd) from his M9540.

Broke up some expanded metal today at work may get around to welding it on this weekend.

No worries here. Can't recall how many ideas I've stolen from TBN. As we discussed, make sure your guard is pushing rearward against something other than your latch pin/pins. Also pay particular attention to small areas at the bottom where objects can get thru and up into your factory grill. Anxious to see the end result!!!!

As with all things in life, you take your chances. Honestly, I don't go charging into brush piles with my grapple, so.......... Actually, I don't have many brush piles on my property. I'm mainly large chunks of Ponderosa pine and big rocks. Any limbs are left where they were cut off - to rot.

I like your guard!!!! It lacks protection that I need. But that has nothing to do whether it's effective for you. Nice work!!!! Especially how it hinges but yet offers lower, fixed protection!!!!

Makes sense I'm the same way very cautious with my equipment but you never know.
