Drove through water hit a deep pocket, sucked in some water through breather, tractor shut down . What is proper procedure to restart ? Have not tried to re start it yet . Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It may be hydrolocked, if enough water got sucked in:

To be safe, I'd want to get any liquid out of the cylinders before trying to crank it.
Some of the guys on here have actual experience and can suggest how best to do that.
Hope your machine is okay.

Bummer.
I was talking to a neighbor over the fence a few days ago. He did the same thing with a friend's 75 hp Mahindra recently (he was helping to move some implements off a flooded field). Hydrolocked the engine. $10K repair bill for pistons, rods, crankshaft. Hope you have better luck.

Probably wasn't $10k worth of implements either!

First off, DO NOT try to start it the way it is. It's going to need to have all the engine and accessory fluids drained and replaced....probably more than once. That means oil, power steering, coolant at a minimum. The injectors need to be pulled then the engine rotated to make sure no water is in the cylinders and maybe the valve covers removed to check for water. Depending on how deep, it might need the transmission fluid replaced as well. There could be stuff I'm forgetting, but it's going to be a fairly involved process to make sure all the water is gone, and all the residual moisture is removed.

I would take it to the dealer...if you mess up, it's going to cost a lot more than having them get it squared away from the start.

Thanks for replies, son came over and we accessed the situation. Decided to pull injectors and see if water was present. After a couple of hours removing fuel tank, turbo and other parts finally was able to reach them, as we suspected full of water ! Blew out with air then turned starter (very short time) shot water 1/4 mile high ! Sprayed with wd40 repeated process several times till water was gone. Fortunately no weird sounds from engine sounded very smooth. Then reversed process putting it all back together.
Drained water from oil pan (probably 1/2 gallon) primed fuel and started ,thank God she started and ran smooth, shut her down after running a few seconds, now have to replace oil, filters etc
Feel very fortunate and will NOT be driving into water for a long time !

Lord - I guess you are lucky. I drove my previous tractor into water but before it got deep I was able to lift the front of the tractor with the FEL. There were some very nervous moments getting it out but all ended well. No water got in anywhere. I am VERY careful when in that area of my property now - as a matter of fact - now I'll only go there during the dry season.

Keep an eye on your oil. If there's still water in it it'll change colors (seen both pale green and grey). If it does immediately change the oil and filter again. Sometimes it takes a half dozen oil changes to get all the water out.

When I was young three wheeled atvs (atc) were all the rage. The old Hondas had wheel less tires. We called them balloon tires. One of the kids on the street who was small realized he could float if he was real careful with his balance. One day a kid from down the road thought he would try with his newer heaver model with the tires you would find on them today. He just went straight down and all you could see was the handlebars. he was lucky because he didn't have the motor revved up so it just stalled. After pulling him out and back to his house it took him lots of oil changes to get the oil clean of water.
