I went to start my JD 2210 and it wouldn't start. We had a cold front come thru last night . I went to start it and it turns over but doesn't want to start. No exahaust smoke so it appears not to be getting any fuel. I talked to the dealer and they said they had a problem with the fuel solenoid relay going bad. The tractor has about 15 hours on it now. Anyone else had this problem???

If you're down to 30 degrees and have straight summer fuel you might have gelled fuel or possibly a bit of frozen water. I would try to get the tractor warmed up first and add some anti-gel to the fuel and see if that helps. Hang a trouble light just under the engine and the heat will eventually transfer through the engine and fuel tank.

My 2210 is two years and 125 hours old, no problems with starting or fuel solenoids.

RR,

Are you using the cold starting proceedure, turning the ignition key to start while in gear or with the pto engaged for a few to 20 seconds, before starting it? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If it's fuel gelling, put the light that another suggested very close to the fuel bowl. The gelling occurs on the filter element itself.

Check your fuse for the fuel shutoff valve.

Like another said, put in gear (H or L) or pull PTO switch out and hold ignition switch in "start" position for a count of 5. Then push gear selector to N or push PTO switch in.

I have been putting it it gear for abut 15 to 20 seconds and then pushing it to neutral to start it but there is no click noise from the fuel solinod. the temp yesterday was in the high 40's but was 72 at midnight the night before. I really don't think its the fuel gelling at this point.I checked all fuses and there all fine. The dealer is supose to pick it up tuesday morning.I have had 2 other yanmar powered tractors not including this one since 1978 and besides batteries I have really not seen any other problems?
