My 3550 (tier 4 5035) just arrived at the dealer

Part of the confusion is the Mahindra has not outlined to the dealers the changes in attachments specifically by model. There has been nothing sent out saying "the 595 on such and such model will be replaced by the 509 and called a xyz". So dealers are still figuring it out. The good news is that every backhoe ATI/Bradco builds is top of the line. It's like Snap On. It is good, or they do not sell it.

I thought I was getting a 595 with the 4530 that I bought. When the dealer emailed me the price breakdown list per item, the backhoe was listed as a 509E. I guess I'll know what I bought when it's delivered. What size is that bucket?

That's a 24" bucket...I've got a 12" one coming as well (seems to be back ordered).

Very similar. One wins by an inch on one spec, the other by an inch or two on another. The specs on digging force are done at 2500 psi on one unit and 2750 on another, so we can't compare that directly. They ought to fix that. All things equal, these are certainly in the same class and nearly identical as far as capabilities.

Great, thanks again Dave....

Thanks, it's been great so far (30 hrs). How has yours been?
I bought mine knowing I really wouldn't have a chance to really try it out till june when I take it up to my property. I didn't want a tier 4 so that is why. Only 19 hours, but no complaints. that BH looks tough, did you use that much yet?

Yeh, I have....our terrain (91 acres) is hilly and tough (there's a reason why they call NH the "granite state") which, obviously, drove my selection of tractor and attachments. When I was looking at Mahindra tractors on the lot, I was looking at the ruggedness of the backhoes and that helped make my tractor decision (along with weight and width and hp). Anyway, I'm doing alot clearing now and just dug a 75' trench for a drainage pipe. And if I'm not hitting solid ledge (which only blasting will address), I'm hitting rock and lots of it. If it's not solid ledge, the backhoe has been able to deal with it. Very impressed so far....
