Nice rig, Soundguy!

I have a 7610 and a Bush Hog pull type model 3210 10' mower that I paid $5900 for 3 years ago. It weighs 2900 pounds. I just found out the mower's side drive shafts were underdesigned when I stripped out one of the rubber shock absorbing couplings while mowing in a smooth open pasture.

BH wanted me to pay nearly $1000 to buy new improved shafts and couplings, and the dealer wouldn't even quote me a price to install them because the gearboxes have to come off and he has no clue how long it will take. I'm having the rubber couplings welded up solid and I will make sure the main slip clutch is working.

I'm so PO'd that I'm determined to get rid of the BH. How do you like the Howse? How are you gonna keep from knocking down fence posts when you make a turn by the fence? :) I wanted to raise this point when you posted about the 5000 Ford but I couldn't figure out how to reply until now.

Very nice machines - How many HP is a 7610? I had to laugh when I looked at the picture, cause my brain read it as B7610, and I was expecting to see orange! Just a teensey bit different, I'd say.

I'm not sure what the rubber couplings look like on the BH.. but on the howse they are a flat disc, and the driveshaft goes into the hub on either side. Looks like they could be 'replaced if they ever die.. with a 1/2 slab of rubber.. like bailer matting.. and then som3e small connecting hardware.

Your couplings sound more like cylindrical couplings, with the insides reamed out? Sorry to hear it... BH is a nice expensive mower.
My howse weighs about 18XX# and cost less than half of the BH.. I thought about the 10' howse pull type, as it was only about another 700$.. but for 10' 3pt is fine for me...

I guess the same way I did with the NH1920 and the 5' KK mower. On that 5' mower.. the mower was pretty much a 5' x 5' square with a tail wheel... this howse.. is actually a bit shorter... maybee 4' or just a hair less... due to it having 3 smaller cutters.. instead of one big one. Since the mower is about 18" wider on the tractor on each side.. I should be able to pull of a nice easy turn since the mower is so short.. probably an easier turn that the 5' hog.. as it is about 6' long trailing the tractor.

I know one thing.. My view from up on the 7610 should be a bit better!

My thoughts went.

10", must have meant 10', but a Kubota 7610 would never handle a 10' rotary cutter. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Soundguy,
Given you are in FL, 90 HP is enough for a 10' 3pt or pull type cutter. Actually a 15' Rhino pulls with about the same power as a 10' Rhino cutter.
