the worst experience i have ever had with any dealer was with a cub dealer in jackson TN. i had been negotiating very hard for a few days with him. we finally made the deal, signed the papers and loaded the tractor. on my way home, with one of his employees following with the tractor, the dealer calls me on my cell. he says, "you are going to have to write me a check for $700 or i am going to turn my employee around with the tractor". i told him i had a legal document with his signature saying the deal was done. he said he sold it too cheap and couldnt let it go. i told him he was fortunate to be dealing with someone who wasnt the type of person to take advantage of his error, and said turn your guy around. he called a few hours later apologizing, and said he knew he was wrong. in order to make things right, he would sell me the 3200 i originally wanted at his cost. i thought that would be great, and since i had to go to ATL for business, i sent my wife down on monday to do the deal. she calls me monday, literally in tears, saying he had changed his mind and couldnt do the deal. i told her to go home and we ended up getting the 3200 with 54" deck from the dealer in my hometown. bottom line is this guy was just nuts and committed to a deal he could not do, then decided he was not going to do the second "make things right" deal. needless to say, i let people know my opinion of this guy when asked. still makes me mad thinking about it.
there was a post on another forum asking about peoples experience with dealers and i thought it would be interesting to hear others stories and get opinions from you guys as to what you would have done in this situation.
