Pictures and documentation will be your friend for this ordeal. It might even be worth getting one of the small telephone recorders from radio shack and record all phone conversations with these clowns.Make sure you let them know up front the conversation is being recorded. It's possible if you show him your getting serious about the issue, he may choose to take care of it to keep you out of his hair. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Good Luck and keep up the pressure on them.

I hate it for you! It sounds like there was a little more "wrench turning" involved than you expected. I hope you get things worked out. I am guessing this is an independent dealer and not Northen Hydraulic or Homier/FarmPro? If it had been the later you would have an easier time of it. You may want to post your experience in the Chinese Tractor forum.

Very sorry to hear about your plight. This is by far the worst situation I've read about on Chinese Tractors. Usually, I've heard of a few small leaks, some electrical stuff being replaced with third party replacements etc. but not all of this. I believe the others are right about the Attorney General's office and I believe there is a possibility that the dealer broke laws when he charged the tractor before shipment. I've read that is the case with mail/phone orders but am not sure if that is everywhere. Also charging the whole amount surely would be reason enough to dispute with the CC company alone. As was also said, do not fail to document everything you can and take detailed photos of the problems that still exist. I wish you the best of luck with this problem. John

You should have never accepted the tractor in that condition, but you did, so.....

1) You NEED to call the AG in your state AND their state if different ASAP.

2) Call your phone company and get an itemized bill sent to you showing all the calls you made in the last two months.

3) Have all your paperwork in order. Get a notebook and write down everything i.e., they called, you called, time, date, names (first and last), extension #'s and so on.

4) Keep in touch with your CC company. Tell them you'll pay for any charges except any pertaining the purchase of the tractor.

5) Good luck and keep us posted.

While this has to be good advice, I find myself thinking that if I had ordered a Chinese tractor I would probably be expecting to find a lot of fittings loose and oil leaking on delivery. I might even be surprised it was sent with oil in it to begin with! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

So I probably would not have sent it back, thinking that solving oil leaks was a right of passage involved with ownership of this type of inexpensive tractor.

So I can't fault A Non a bit for taking delivery. I'm willing to bet money that I would have done the same thing. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hope you get this resolved without losing too much hair, A Non!

To Henro and all of the others that posted, thanks for the words of advice on the AG, hadn't thought of that. Already contacted the cc company to dispute the charge. Been told it can take up to 30 days /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif So I have a tractor that just sits there /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif). I have started assembling my phone records, e-mails and pictures I sent to them showing the problems.

I'd like to hear from a Chinese tractor dealer or two to hear their opinion.

Henro, that was my thinking exactly on why I didn't refuse it then and there, a few leaks probably no big deal... Hindsight is always 20/20. Didn't have much hair to begin with, definitely less now!

As to who it is or what brand, still hesitant to say, but it's not a Jinma! So all you Jinma dealers can now breath.

Hey a non ya can expect some small problems with chinese tractors like a small electrical problem or the looks and fit of the body but this is a clear cut case of bad assembly and prep work from the get go. A good chinese dealer would not ship you one with cut lines no coolant in the radiator and big oil leaks. the fact that the hour meter was at 4 hours is a bad thing. sue em and get em good dealers dont do this

A non:

Feel bad for you and the situation you're in.

Go thru the upfront procedures but keep in mind that even if successful there may be no replacement or reimbursement capability by the seller or any ability for you to recoup from the seller.

Instead of letting the tractor sit idle best be trying to get it into running condition as intuition tells me this will be the end result requirement.

One case where I hope all I have said be proven wrong.

It's been posted above, and you mention it here. But, just to reinforce, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. All the calls, times, dates, person contacted, whether it is the dealer, BBB, CC company, AG office. It is hard to over document it; bad is bad to underdocument it, especially if you end up in court.

I might even take a side, front, and back picture. Put them in Paintbrush or something, and put a label and arrow to all suspect problems. Label "Problem-1,2,3" or something. Then detail each problem, and take close up pictures.
